FILEMIGO / PRACTICAL GUIDE

Choose the right PDF tool without losing useful features

The right PDF tool depends on what you want to preserve. Page order, searchable text, form fields and visible appearance are different parts of a document.

Combine, keep or separate pages

Merge PDF combines several documents in the chosen order. Extract PDF keeps selected pages together in one file. Split PDF produces one file per selected page, packaged in a ZIP. Organize PDF gives you thumbnails for rearranging pages. Always check page order in the downloaded copy.

Understand image-based compression

Filemigo’s PDF compressor renders pages and rebuilds them as compressed images. This can help with large scanned documents, but it removes searchable text, links, interactive fields and signatures. An already efficient text PDF can become larger. Compare both size and readability before keeping the output.

Distinguish a form from a scan

Fill PDF works with existing interactive form fields. A photo or scan of a form has no fields to fill; use Add text to place text visibly on the page. Flatten PDF turns existing form values into page content. Neither operation creates password protection.

Cropping is not redaction

Crop PDF changes the visible area while hidden content stays in the file. Redact PDF rebuilds pages as images with specified rectangular areas erased and original text and metadata discarded. Carefully review all pages: the tool cannot know which other details you meant to remove.

Use OCR for text, not perfect reconstruction

OCR recognizes English or Turkish text from selected scanned pages and returns TXT. It does not recreate the original page layout or produce a searchable replacement PDF. Check names, numbers and unusual characters against the source. Keep originals for every conversion workflow.
