FILEMIGO / PRACTICAL GUIDE
Turn an LLM response into an editable diagram
A useful diagram handoff needs more than a screenshot. Filemigo uses explicit node IDs, connections, arrow markers and condition scopes so you can describe a drawing to an LLM and read its structured response back.
Give the LLM the drawing contract
Open the canvas and choose Draw with LLM. Copy the system prompt into the model’s system instructions, or send it as the first message if that interface has no separate instructions field. Then describe the diagram you need. Filemigo does not call the model for you.
Describe meaning before appearance
For a flowchart, state decisions, both outcomes and retry paths. For UML, specify inheritance or other relationships and their endpoints. For a sequence diagram, describe participants and message order. If information is missing, the supplied prompt tells the LLM to ask rather than invent conditions.
Paste JSON and preview
Paste the complete filemigo-diagram JSON response into Filemigo. A single JSON code block is accepted too. Check & preview validates IDs, referenced nodes, markers and sequence scopes before arranging the drawing. Pasted text is treated as data and is not executed.
Review, apply and save
Inspect the meaning as well as the drawing: passing structural checks does not prove that the model understood your business rules. Apply to canvas replaces the current drawing in one undoable action. Save project JSON for later editing; a local browser draft is available, but downloading JSON provides a durable backup. SVG retains vector shapes; PNG and PDF are raster exports.
Send an existing drawing back
Choose LLM brief, select JSON and describe the requested change. Send that document alongside the system prompt and paste the resulting full diagram back. Briefs carry nodes and edges but omit image pixels. The canvas supports up to 150 objects and 200 connections; nested sequence fragments are not supported.
